“Art is Good for Your Mental Health”

The work on show has been created by local artists from Leeds and the surrounding areas. In support of the Time To Change Leeds campaign, the theme proudly highlights the joy and expression than can be found in all art forms, showing that anybody can take part and without barriers. The launch of the Mic’d Up live music event, to be held once monthly, demonstrates our commitment to support art in all forms and allow people to enjoy, play, listen and simply take part. Project Manager, Mindy Goose, who is a part time shift leader at the Hedley Verity, is also a Time To Change Leeds volunteer. She is a professional photographer who writes and facilitates community workshops. Her emphasis is on participation and self discovery, encouraging others to see and take notice, and enjoy using their camera as a form of expression.

Time To Change is a national campaign hoping to reduce the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental ill health. Time To Change Leeds supports this campaign and is the first to be based at a local level. One of the aims of Time to Change Leeds is to enable people to feel included and valued. Time to Change Leeds believes that talking is the perfect place to start.
